  • Summer is quickly fading - seems like I haven't done much at all.  With this stupid shoulder and high gas prices, I've been hanging out at home a lot.  Not a lot going on - just felt like I should update

  • An update

got a new car - a 2008 Focus that is averaging 31.8 mpg

Work is good - very busy but very good

Moolatte's at DQ are okay - but get over powering quickly

Does anyone really care that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have yet 2 more children?

Spent the day at the hydroplane races in Detroit with EDS.  The down size was there was little racing.  First heat = boat flipped; long delay; next heat = another boat flipped .... that's it, I'm done.  The cool thing was The Salvation Army was the charity of choice for this event .... excellent opportunity for networking.

Shoulder is still messed up.  I sure would like to get a good night's sleep.  Hasn't happened in several months as I can't get comfortable.

I'm going to be a great aunt in April - yes, I am quite young for this :)

  • waiting for the storm

we are supposed to be getting some rough weather.  I enjoy a good storm as long as I don't lose power.  It's been a week of concerning news, difficult decisions, and thought provoking conversations - no wonder I'm so tired today.  I'm blessed to have lots of folks around me who are smarter than I am and help me out with the tough calls.

The shoulder remains problematic - I need PT but the doctor can't writet the order because he's not getting the fax report from the physical therapist - but he's not getting the report from the therapist because his fax machine isn't working.  Should he get the report from the therapist, he can't fax the order back that would allow the insurance company to approve the therapy so my shoulder doesn't freeze up after 2 weeks of no therapy.  This is also the reason why DHQ can't get the completed FMLA form back - after 3 attempts and numerous phone calls, the surgeon's office said the fax machine was to blame .... I'm starting to question the person who is checking the fax machine ....

watching the original MASH movie - never have seen it start to finish.

  • not "too exciting" updates

no more sling - well, unless I'm doing a lot of stuff and walking around a lot.  Just as odd getting used to not having it as it was to get used to having it.

PT is going slow - have about 26 more sessions.

Going to try and go back to Motor City rehearsal - at least part of it - on Monday to see if I can even hold my horn. Have a lot of concerts coming up and sight-playing/reading is not my forte....

Grandma is still in hospital/rehab.  Been a long couple of weeks for my mom.  It kind of sounds like things are as good as they are going to get so she may be going home early this week.

Not sure how to dress anymore - warm one day, cold the next ... it's weird

Hopefully heading to the cabin next weekend - yeah summer !

  • nothing about my shoulder

I realized today that for the last month all my blogs have been about my shoulder - while my shoulder has taken up a lot of time and money, there is so much more going on ....

I'm looking forward to the summer as the city of Plymouth has a lot going on and downtown is very cool.

I've missed being at Echo Grove in the summer but this year I have a new opportunity to be on staff at Family Camp

As soon as Uncle Sam sends me all my money, I'm getting a new car :)

I''ve been blessed with some new friendships - glad God has answered my prayers and helped me forgive, forget and venture out to meet new people.  God has brought people into my life in the most unexpected ways.  I hope that I bring as much to the friendships as their friendships bring to me.

I love spring - after the dreay winter eveyrthing seems so bright and colorful
